Project history
How the ConIPF methodology was developed
The project progressed in two streams:
in experiments.
To start, experts from 5 of the industrial partners' business units were surveyed about their product development and reuse practices as well as the challenges that they were encountering. The academic partners characterised the situations of each business unit and defined the requirements on the methodology.
The industrial partners coordinated the surveys, and based on those experiences, defined representative development environments for uses as the basis for experimentation. While the methodology was being defined, the industrial partners gathered the necessary information for the knowledge models and planned the construction of the experimental environments.
When the methodology was substantially defined, the industrial partners instantiated the methodology in their experimental environments and the academic partners planned the assessment and validation of the experiments.
After the experiments were completed, the academic partners assessed the results of the experiments and adapted the methodology accordingly. The industrial partners prepared the experience reports
