The goal of the ConIPF project was to define and validate a product line product derivation methodology using structure-based configuration. It called for a combination of strengths in software engineering for the product line aspects, in artificial intelligence for structure-based configuration and a spectrum of progressive software practice in industry. The consortium consisted of two academic partners and two industrial partners, each a leader in their field that contributed critical strengths to the project.
